Plant Operations
The main aim of the Plant Operations department is to operate and maintain Hybrit’s pilot plans to keep developing them and ensure high quality research and at the same time make safety and a good working environment a top priority.
At the moment the department comprises the pilot plant for direct reduction in Luleå. When the pilot plant for hydrogen storage in Luleå has been completed, it will also be part of the responsibilities for this department. The two pilot plants will be connected when the hydrogen storage is commissioned during the spring of 2022.
Main focus areas:
- Contribute to the building of knowledge and developing competence for future Hybrit projects.
- Maintain and operate the pilot plants. This includes all the different parts of the plants but also to maintain property, land and offices adjacent to the plant.
- Make sure that the pilot plants are in good condition so that planned research campaigns can be run according to the decided test schedule.
The department has approx. 7 Hybrit employees, both engineers and technicians. When the plant is operational there are also personnel on loan from the companies with in the HYBRIT initiative as well as external consultants to man the shifts, normally this means somewhere around 40 to 50 people all in all.
